Bring the joy of the circus to your SEN group!​​

Our SEN and Youth groups events are a fantastic way of bringing the circus to groups and clubs. A fun and friendly take on our standard circus parties, we give the children an unforgettable experience bringing the chance for the children and adults to learn circus skills for themselves in an enjoyable, educational and engaging way.

We are professional circus entertainers specialising in non acrobatic workshops, this means we are fully inclusive to all ability and age levels, our lessons are inclusive and fun, building confidence, physical and mental well being, improving creative thinking and encouraging resilience, perseverance and collaboration.

Our workshops are free flowing and child led as we understand that children need room to explore their individual interests without the pressure that a class setting can bring. For our SEN groups we also understand that with so much going on, children can feel overwhelmed and need a bit of quiet time which is why our sessions also have a circus themed chill out space with a small tent, tunnel and cushioned seating area, books and fidget toys. A ball pit can be used although in hall settings we avoid this to ensure safety for the workshop participants.

Circus skills encourage learning in a fun, non-competitive, way. Learning the individual skills encourages participation, movement, coordination, cooperation, perseverance, balance and creativity. The children are taught circus skills by our fully trained and DBS checked instructors along with team building and group trick options. We also supply all the equipment, our battery operated speaker for music and our knowledge as circus performers for the last 20 years.

The activities we teach in the workshops are as follows: 

Juggling balls, juggling scarves, spinning plates, poi, circus ribbons, flower sticks, diabolo, hula hoops, stilts and pedal-gos. Our slackline tightrope can also be hired for an additional fee.

After the workshop we play some party games with a circus twist, think musical chairs but with hula hoops and limbo under a circus ribbon. We have games designed so that no one is "out" meaning that everyone can continue playing till the game is over. We can play these games in the standard setting where there is a winner, we do adapt this per group and let the children and leaders vote on what they would prefer. 

Our larger package has the option of a 30 minute show. This can either be performed by our instructors or by the children themselves, we can also combine the two if some children would like to perform and other only watch. We do encourage the parents to come and watch and cheer on their children when possible.
